TML’s Board Looks Towards the Future

Jan 31, 2022

Over the past eight years, I’ve had the pleasure of serving the TML board; serving as the Board chair, the past three years. Like many others, I was introduced to TML through a service opportunity and left with a passion for the program and ministry. Jason and Angel have been tremendous models of leadership. Their giftedness, hard work, and love for their community are beyond what any board could ask for in a CEO and VP, and in this case, a husband and wife.

As a board, we are passionate about growing the organization while honoring the original beliefs and mission of TML. When Jason and Angel approached me about a potential transition, I was supportive but committed to ensuring the success of TML’s future in their absence. Jason provided a healthy transition plan, which allowed capacity building, time for selecting a new CEO, mentoring a new CEO while continuing to move the organization forward.

The Board researched and developed a process to ensure the CEO had the combination of leadership, education, character, skills, and experience to lead TML successfully. It was helpful to have a candidate in mind to narrow the focus, and Trina Harris was interviewed by members of a select committee and then in with the entire Board. As the board chair, I was extremely pleased with the feedback and the votes of confidence received for making Trina our next CEO.

We will miss the tremendous leaders we had with Jason and Angel, but we are confident that Trina is the person for the job, and the future for TML is bright.

To you, our supporters, we cannot thank you enough and hope that we can continue to count on your prayers, support, and encouragement in the days ahead. The best is yet to come!
